Complications and disagreements will undoubtedly occur in your group`s career, so an agreement will be helpful if you need to smooth things out. For example, how are important volume decisions made? Is it an equal vote or do some Members have more say? What are the consequences if a band member misses a certain number of shows or rehearsals? Think about the types of problems that could affect your group at some point, and do your best to find a compromise on the best ways to deal with them. What property (such as instruments, sets and equipment) is in the possession of individuals and what is the ownership of the group? Are the following decisions taken by a majority, unanimously or not? Does anyone have more voices than anyone else? What is the plan if a decision is to be made by a majority, but there are an even number of members of the group who can vote? Depending on where your group is based, there are probably unique laws for your province or state that govern partnerships, whether the partnership is four people in a group or three people running a social media marketing company. If your group is not integrated, depending on the location, it can be considered a partnership by law. Band members may participate in external business activities, including musical entertainment, as long as they are not involved in their commitment and commitment to the band. Each member of the group undertakes to provide the following services, since they relate to the success of the group, as well as all other services deemed necessary: this law may provide, for example, that each partner can make binding commitments on behalf of the group, that all partners are responsible for the group`s commitments and that each partner is allowed to participate equally in the capital and profits of the company. That may not be what you want, but an agreement among the group is crushing the law (at least in Ontario, Canada). Once you feel like the group is “stable,” you should talk to everyone about what commitment really is. Put the idea of a group agreement on the group. Explain why it`s important and how it`s going to help.
(In fact, it might make people happy to know exactly what they are guaranteed as a member of the group.) Then choose a time to work out the details. What happens when a member of the group is sick, disabled or dying? While you`re at it, another useful company to keep you busy early in your band`s career is copyrighting all your music, branding your band`s name and making sure you write contracts in your favor prepared for your producers and agents to agree. Then you will all be hired to share your music with the world! Does anyone have more control over the name of the band? The band can only use the name if everyone still performs together? Can a majority of members who come together use the name? Is that the name of Person A, whether he is in the group or not? What would you say if only person A and person B could use the group, that there was someone else in the group? Earnings from different group activities should not be evenly distributed or in the same way.
