School Sports

Sports at The Chandler have a very high profile and we are very proud of our provision in school and also of our record in inter school competition! We believe that Sport is essential for young people to help develop not only healthy lifestyles but also learn cooperation, discipline and self esteem. Our School Motto 'Let Your Light Shine' comes into sharp focus in this important area of the curriculum and many of our children really excell in sports.

All of our children take part in a dedicated Games afternoon each week and enjoy a wide range of activities. Many also take advantage of the great variety of sports clubs on offer after school.  We offer netball, football, rugby, tennis, cricket, basketball and athletics and thanks to our inspirational Sports Teacher Nicki Cavaliero our school teams are winning everything. Not that winning is everything and of course we teach that being a good sport and taking part is what counts! However we don't mind boasting we are currently the champions in netball, football and rugby and last year we won the Disrict Sports again! We also believe in giving everyone a chance to represent the school and try to provide opportunities for 'B' and 'C' teams where ever possible. We also have a regular number of House events over the year offering another arena for competition and involvement for everyone!
